How to Get Around

From Catania Airport to Syracuse by Car

If you are staying for a few days, we recommend renting a car. It will be essential for trips outside the city center (seaside, excursions, and more).

From Catania Airport to Syracuse by Bus

There is also a bus alternative, which takes about an hour. Check the Interbus website for timetables and to find the stop closest to your accommodation.

From Syracuse city center to the church

The Church of Maria Santissima Mediatrice di tutte le grazie is located in the Isola district of Syracuse and can be reached by car from the city center in about 20 minutes.

The reception venue, Villa Isola, is located directly opposite the church entrance and is therefore just a few minutes’ walk away.

And what else is there to do?

ortigia

You’re already here, so why not stay a while and enjoy?

A millennial history rooted in Ancient Greece, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with winding alleys and stunning buildings blending Greek, Arab, and Baroque styles. As any standard travel site would say, Ortigia—the historic heart of Syracuse—never ceases to amaze. There is even a free shuttle bus to take you there. What more could you ask for?

Outside the city, you’ll be spoiled for choice with out-of-this-world beaches, dramatic cliffs, hiking trails, and ancient villages. So, what’s the plan?

Take me to the sights

You’ll be spoiled for choice here, and you could easily lose yourself for days. If you’ve decided to visit Syracuse, you’re likely already familiar with at least a tiny piece of its Greco-Roman-Arab-Norman-Spanish-Bourbon history. Here is a list of sites that are truly worth a visit.

Let’s go exploring!

Since you’ll probably be driving, you should definitely take advantage of it! There are plenty of awesome places just a short drive from Syracuse.

Take me to the beach

You’ll need to head out of town for the beaches, but it’s well worth the trip—whether you’re a ‘sandy beach’ lover or a ‘rocky coast’ enthusiast

Hungry yet? We are!

Syracuse is famous for never letting its visitors go hungry. That’s why we’ve put together an extensive list to satisfy even the most discerning palates

Official Schedule

04:30 PM – Guests Arrival

Let’s meet at the Church. Take a moment to settle in and enjoy the atmosphere before the ceremony begins.

05:00 PM – The “I Do’s”

The official ceremony begins. Expect a few tears, a lot of smiles, and our official start as husband and wife.

06:30 PM – Bubbles & Bites

We’re moving to Villa Isola to celebrate! Think flowing Prosecco, Sicilian appetizers, and that golden hour light we all love.

08:30 PM – The Sicilian Feast!

Time to get serious at the table. We hope you followed our advice and came hungry!

11:00 PM – Dance Floor & Midnight Magic

Cake cutting, open bar, and enough music to keep us dancing until the stars are the only ones left awake.

For those who wish to give a present, we would greatly appreciate a contribution towards our future plans — and a possible honeymoon once our little ones are a bit more grown up!
